We had a lot of fun making the video. Neo was home from UMASS Amherst for the Thanksgiving break, and we wanted to do something as a family. Winnie and I suffer a little from empty nest syndrome, so it was good to be together. We all tried to contribute ideas for the video.
The HOVERAir X1 is a lightweight, portable, and user-friendly drone. In contrast to typical drones, its ultralight weight of 125g means that it doesn't require registration or certification, and it can be quickly launched with a 3-second palm takeoff. It does not require a controller and has AI features, like tracking and orbit, which we used in the video. The HoverAir app allows you to record audio and filters out the drone prop noise. https://thehover.com
This is one of our favorite spots to take a walk by the Cape Cod Canal. It has easy access to parking, and in the summer months, the public bathrooms are open. It was kind of windy at this location, and our little drone had issues keeping us in the center of the video.
I had come across this railroad bridge a few years ago and liked the paintings on the walls. The only tricky thing at this location was not being run over by cars. Lucky for us the road is not very busy in the off months.
At this location, I wished everyone a happy holiday. Neo thought I was going to say Merry Christmas. We really could have used a bit more planning. This is a good place to see the fishing boats leaving in the morning and returning in the evening.
This location is near the Visitor's Center at the Sandwich end of the canal. A lot of people fish off the jetty. We filmed this video a few days after Thanksgiving, and it was really cold at this spot.
This is always an excellent place to visit. There is a nice hike to the Eastham Coast Guard lookout with many scenic views. We did a little dancing at this location. Make sure to check out the outtakes.
This marsh area can be pretty wet, and we had to watch where we stepped. The sun was getting low, and we were afraid we might run out of time before we got to all the locations. In New England, the sun sets around 4:30 pm this time of year.
This is the only location where we might have possibly trespassed. Luckily, no one was around to tell us to get off the grass. This is where we made our floppy ears impression.
We tried unsuccessfully to perform the wave at this location. We were all getting a little punch drunk by then. Plus we suffered an audio issue at this location.
This location contains three old lighthouses called the Sisters. The sunlight was dropping, and we had one more Cape Cod location before the end. We didn't know what to do at this location, so we just had fun with it.
We had timed it perfectly when we arrived at Provincetown. The sun was setting, and we had just enough time to get our final shot. If you ever visit Provincetown, I recommend a place called Kung Fu Dumplings. The dumplings were so good, especially on a cold day!
Wow, I'm impressed you read to the end. The video was edited using iMovie on a Macbook Air. The Jim-paradis.com website is my old resume' site that I use when applying for jobs. Most likely, I won't need it next year. Clothing is by https://peacekeeperathleisure.com and dance instruction is by Fred Astaire Dance Studio. :-)
